ITT Defense appoints Anne Eisele as Global Head of External Affairs

Anne Eisele, 44, has been appointed global head of external affairs for ITTs Defense and Information Solutions segment, a $6 billion business soon to be spun off as ITT Exelis, based in McLean, Vancouver.
In this leadership role, Eisele will be responsible for providing strategic communications counsel to senior leadership and for developing and executing all external communications activities that reflect the overall strategy and direction of the new company to shareholders, customers, media, regulators and other stakeholders. She will serve as a primary spokesperson on all issues relating to ITT Exelis and partner closely with Investor Relations in helping key audiences understand and appreciate the companys value proposition. Anne will also lead all thought leadership, reputation, advertising and corporate social responsibility activities. Eisele will report to David Albritton, vice president of communications.

Anne is a proven public-relations professional with extensive experience helping global, diversified high-technology companies convey business performance, strategy, outlook and societal impact in ways that measurably strengthen brand value, said Albritton. With keen understanding of the aerospace and defense industry and a history of advancing investor, media and other stakeholder perceptions, Anne will be a true partner to our corporate leadership as we position ITT Exelis for success as an independent, publicly traded entity.

Before joining ITT, Eisele was director of financial communications at GE corporate headquarters in Fairfield, Ct. Previously, Eisele served in a similar capacity at The Boeing Company corporate headquarters in Chicago, Il., after having earlier led media relations and executive communications for that companys space and defense business then headquartered in Southern California. She began her career as a researcher and project manager at The Washington Post Company before moving to various inside-the-beltway trade publications, most notably Space News, where she covered NASA, the Pentagon and commercial space programs, as well as Congressional appropriations.

Eisele is a graduate of Duke University and earned her master's degree in Anglo-American Literature from the University of London's University College.
