JAA Training Organisation celebrates 10th Anniversary

- Hoofddorp, The Netherlands.

The Joint Aviation Authorities Training Organisation (JAA TO) celebrated its 10th Anniversary aboard the Clipper “Antoinette”, joining the Sail In 2015 event in Amsterdam. The celebration festivity was attended by officials from renowned aviation organisations, such as ICAO and ECAC.

The JAA TO, with its Headquarters in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands, originated from the former Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA), and started off as a separate organisation in 2005 providing regulatory aviation safety training courses mainly in the fields of Maintenance and Certification. Since then, the JAA TO - an ICAO Regional Training Centre of Excellence - has expanded significantly. The portfolio currently encompasses over 300 training courses in 8 fields of expertise and scheduled at 16 locations worldwide.

In his speech Mr. Joost Jonker, JAA TO Director, highlighted a few milestones achieved in these past 10 years, like JAA TO’s full membership to the ICAO TRAINAIR Plus Programme (TPP), its nomination as the 1st ICAO Regional Training Centre of Excellence (RTCE) for the European and North Atlantic region, CAA NL’s approval of JAA TO as RITO (Ramp Inspection Training Organisation) and its application to become EASA Virtual Academy Member with the full support of the Dutch CAA. “These achievements recognize the importance and the need for aviation safety training, but also encourage us to continue striving for the best training methods, the highest course quality, and finding ways to train professionals in the latest developments and insights in aviation safety.”

With a view to the worldwide growth of aviation, JAA TO has concluded various Memoranda of Understanding with high profile organisations aiming at making aviation safety training globally available to the next generation of aviation professionals. The JAA TO further assisted with building renowned training academies.
