Jeppesen and Ukraine International Airlines agree to a new five-year flight planning and charting service contract

Jeppesen, a unit of Boeing Flight Services, recently agreed to a five-year charting and flight planning service renewal contract with Ukraine International Airlines, the flagship carrier of the Ukraine.

Jeppesen solutions provided in the agreement include tailored Jeppesen Airway Manual digital charting services, including e-Link Online and e-Link for Windows. The agreement also includes Jeppesen flight planning services and OpsData aircraft performance analysis to maximize operational efficiency for the airline.

Ukraine International Airlines continues its progression from using paper to integrating digital navigation information through the agreement. Jeppesen will deliver tailored digital charting services for the Kiev-based leading carrier of the Ukraine, which includes access to Web-based e-Link tailored charting, presented in a Windows operating environment.

We are looking forward to implementing paperless navigation solutions that work to reduce pilot workload, and the digital solutions provided by Jeppesen provide the basis for making this transition over time, said Sergiy Lebedyev, director, Operational Control Center, Ukraine International Airlines. Eventually, we are considering integrating electronic flight bag (EFB) solutions with Jeppesen and this renewal of our digital charting and flight planning service contract provides a bridge for us to reach that goal.

To increase operational efficiency for the airline, Jeppesens industry-leading flight planning services are included in the new service agreement. Jeppesen flight planning services display optimized routing options and preferred routes per the preferences of Ukraine International Airlines. Jeppesen OpsData services included in the agreement also provide on-demand aircraft performance analysis for airports worldwide, utilizing the most complete obstacle database and the latest performance data to enhance airline operations.

In a challenging business economy, we provide Ukraine International Airlines with industry-leading digital charting and flight planning information that helps to streamline operations and reduce costs, said Thomas Wede, Jeppesen senior vice president and general manager, Aviation. Providing data continuity across the airlines fleet allows for flight planning and navigation operations to work at maximum efficiency, as we seek to implement further digital solutions with Ukraine International Airlines.

Ukraine International Airlines operates an aircraft fleet featuring Boeing 737-300, 400 and 800 models. The airline operates scheduled domestic and international passenger and cargo service from its home base at Kiev Boryspil International Airport (KPB).  For more information about Ukraine International Airlines, please visit www.flyuia.com.
