JEPPESEN Integration of Flyvie Recorder now offered with Skymanager, providing debrief and recorder for flight schools

Jeppesen, a unit of Boeing Flight Services, and Flyvie Inc., a developer and manufacturer of video capturing and debriefing systems for the aviation industry, announce the availability of a video flight recording and debriefing solution to enhance the general aviation training experience.
Following the completion of a strategic development agreement in November 2010, Jeppesen now offers the Flyvie debrief system as a stand-alone product and integrated into the Jeppesen Skymanager system, used by flight training organizations to coordinate and manage student pilot training programs.

"We are now offering a transformational enhancement to our flight training products with the introduction of this Flyvie system," said Jeremy Desruisseaux, Jeppesen chief instructor, Aviation. "With Flyvie, the training session continues immediately following the flight, with the instructor and student reviewing each phase of flight while viewing the student actions, listening to communication, observing the flight attitude and ground path. This brings military and commercial airline debrief capabilities to general aviation, for the first time."

The flight information is then uploaded to Flyvies servers to create a comprehensive flight recording experience that can be reviewed by the student, the instructor, and other pilots to assess and improve flight performance.

"The Flyvie system has been adopted by numerous large flight schools worldwide, including major aviation academies, and is being used by hundreds of individual pilots and CFIs," said Eran Karoly, Flyvie VP of Marketing, "The integration of Flyvie into Jeppesen training products introduces a critical component to the flight-schools portfolio of products they offer their students. The ability to provide a military and airline class debriefing system to general aviation pilots emphasizes professionalism, makes training more enjoyable, increases flight safety, and maximizes the effectiveness of a students time in the air."

Enhanced training capabilities developed through relationships with industry partners such as Flyvie help Jeppesen to maintain and increase critically important student pilot retention rates. The Flyvie Pro system is available now from Jeppesen and is priced from $3,500 for the general aviation market.
