Lektor Aero Enters Cooperation with NATS to Evolve Air Traffic Control Training with Tailored ATC Games

- Helsinki, Finland.

Lektor Aero is proud to announce cooperation with NATS, the UK’s leading Air Navigation Service Provider, to enhance the training experience for the next generation of Air Traffic Controllers. Through this partnership, Lektor Aero will provide a suite of specialised ATC Games to students undergoing the ATC Basic Courses at NATS College for 2026.

This collaboration marks a huge step forward in the digitalisation and gamification of aviation training. Lektor Aero delivers a solution where specific game elements are tailored to replicate the simulated airspace used within NATS’s existing training environment. Rather than serving as a standalone activity, these games are being used to compliment the training programme for the students at specific points in the course enhancing the capability to deliver practical training across multiple platforms.

The initiative aims to drive higher engagement levels and improve learning retention by allowing students to practice core skills in a dynamic, low-pressure environment. For an initial 12 month period of the collaboration, NATS captures the performance data and insights from learners once they start using the platform.

A Testament to Gamified Learning

For Lektor Aero, this partnership serves as a major validation of its philosophy, where game-based learning solutions create significant value for modern professional training.

"Collaborating with a significant industry player like NATS is a proud moment for our team," says Samuli Suokas, CEO of Lektor Aero. "NATS showing this level of trust in Lektor’s capabilities and solutions is a testament to the real-world value of our gamified services. It proves that game-based training is not just a novelty, but a serious, effective tool for enhancing performance in high-stakes environments."

Enhancing the Training Pipeline

NATS continues to lead the industry in adopting innovative training methodologies. By integrating Lektor’s solution, NATS aims to support students in grasping complex concepts more confidently before entering full-scale simulations.

"We are always looking for tools that can enhance the learning journey for our trainees," says Stuart Morgan, Manager End to End (E2E) Training Improvement at NATS. "The ability to tailor Lektor’s games to match our specific airspace environments means our students can reinforce their learning in a way that is directly applicable to the curriculum. It is an engaging addition to our training toolkit that supports our goal of delivering world-class Air Traffic Controllers."
