LFV upgrades information system from Saab for use in ATCC
LFV (CAA in Sweden) has decided to make a software upgrade of the i-acs/IRIS information system at Gothenburg TWR/APP, for use of the software in ATCCs in Stockholm and Malmö as well.
The information system i-acs/IRIS from Saab will consist of 40 operational clients at each ATCC, with local servers for ANS information and central servers for documentation handling. In August 2008, IRIS clients will be integrated into the existing working positions equipped with Eurocat and fall back clients.
The IRIS server is interfaced to different ANS information and gives the controller, in one and the same display, information such as weather information, AFTN messages, strip information, administrative data, flight information and video surveillance.
The user interface is roll-based and can be easily adapted by the customer. IRIS is in operational use at airports in Norway and Sweden and can be supplied with either Windows or open source components as Linux, Java and MySQL.
