London Southend Airport Control Tower Goes Live!

Systems Interface has completed Phase 1 of the London Southend Airport project for Stobart Group with the opening of the new ATC Control Tower.

A major part of the multi-million pound regeneration scheme at London Southend Airport, the new Control Tower has been equipped with state of the art specialist avionics systems designed, installed and commissioned by Systems Interface.

The transition from the old to new Control Tower has been seamless and highlighted the exemplary planning, project management, and technical skills of Systems Interface.

Mr Terry Smith of the Safety Regulation Group stated in his report: I am impressed with the quality of the installations (including cable management) within a short timescale since last visiting the NCTB as an empty shell. There has clearly been a huge amount of quality work undertaken.

Systems Interface would like to thank its team of sub-contractors who have helped to bring the project to a successful conclusion on time and in budget.

The company is now concentrating on Phase 2 of this project which involves the supply of various Navaids, including two ILS systems, a DME and two IRVR systems together with a complete replacement of all Airfield Ground Lighting.

This multi-million pound development scheme will not only see the upgrade of the complete Air Traffic Control Facilities by Systems Interface, but also the construction of a new terminal, a hotel and a 12 million railway station on the airports eastern boundary providing regular services into London Liverpool Street Station.
