Luciad releases LuciadMap V9.0 including AIXM 5 implementation Technology in sync with NextGen and SESAR deliverables

Luciad, the specialist in high performance visualization of situational awareness applications, announces it has released LuciadMap V9.0 with significant new functionality and increased performance, enabling developers to rapidly and effectively build and deploy high-end mission-critical systems.
LuciadMap is a suite of customizable software components that system integrators and original equipment manufacturers can easily integrate into their existing systems. The product has a global user base in aviation, security, and maritime sectors. Version 9.0 of the product introduces the first available high performance decoding, visualization, and editing of the AIXM 5 standard, the aeronautical information format of choice for both the American NextGen and European SESAR programs future ATC/ATM/AIM systems. AIXM 5 allows leveraging existing technologies while at the same time enabling the digital handling of NOTAMs, and merging static and dynamic data in a single exchange format. Luciad continuously expands its technology to offer the most complete products. LuciadMap V9.0 facilitates precise air space modeling through comprehensive support for complex path shapes made up of different line and arc segments as defined by the ISO 19107 standard. The new functionality enables developers to customize the creation, visualization, and editing of such complex shapes, helping them to efficiently build applications dealing with current and future airspace structures, route network flow, and air traffic operations. LuciadMap Version 9.0 makes life even easier for developers. A new logging framework enables them to get detailed debug and performance information for more efficient troubleshooting. LuciadMap outputs various performance metrics that help developers to better analyze and optimize the performance of LuciadMap-based applications. Working with hierarchical data has become easier with integrated support for layer trees, model trees, and accompanying UI components. The V9.0 release further strengthens LuciadMaps compliance to OGC standards. Including new Geographic Markup Language 3.2.1/ ISO 19136 decoders and encoders, the product features extremely high performance GML processing. I am very proud with this new LuciadMap release as it represents the first commercially available implementation of the new AIXM 5 aeronautical standard, said Lode Missiaen, CEO from Luciad. This new release reflects Luciads goal to offer the most complete product for achieving the highest possible situational awareness in the aviation, defense, and security markets.
