Micro Nav Gains Site Acceptance on Airside Driving and Marshalling Simulators from STPI, Indonesia

Micro Nav has successfully delivered another two 3D simulation training systems, gaining site acceptance from Sekolah Tinggi Penerbangan Indonesia (STPI), the Indonesian Civil Aviation Institute.
jakartaThe aviation training college in Curug, close to Jakarta, has accepted delivery, installation and training for airside driving and aircraft marshalling training systems. Micro Nav is a leading global specialist supplier of advanced simulation and training systems, with an expertise in Air Traffic Control (ATC) and a successful track record for developing and supporting systems going back to 1988. Micro Navs Airside Driver Trainer (ADT) and Aircraft Marshalling Trainer (AMT) simulators are aimed at providing competency-based training and testing for ground operations staff. In a safe learning environment, students can be exposed to inclement weather, heavy traffic and emergencies that would be difficult to incorporate into traditional training in the live operational environment. Both the ADT and AMT simulation training systems delivered to Indonesia incorporate a three screen, edge-aligned, front-projected, visual 3D display using Projection design F22 projectors. The simulators incorporate a number of Indonesian 3D airport models including Jakarta, Bali and Surabaya with accurate airside lineage, lighting and signage. Coupled with realistic ground vehicles and high resolution aircraft models in appropriate liveries, both simulators offer a high fidelity representation of Indonesian airside environments. In addition to the standard specifications, the ADT includes a one-to-one physical mock-up of an aircraft tug cabin that adds to the realistic environment experienced by trainee drivers. The AMT incorporates an additional feature designed to increase simulator capacity by providing automated aircraft responses via wireless motion interpretation of trainee marshal wand gestures. Micro Nav is delighted to have supplied and supported STPI in meeting their training requirements in the area of airport operations. The ADT and AMT simulation systems give STPI a world-class training capability. said Sales and Marketing Director, Martin Wise from Micro Nav Ltd.
