NAV Portugal has new Board of Directors

The Portuguese Government appointed on January 31th the new Board of Directors of NAV Portugal. Composed of three elements, unlike the previous Board which had five members, the new Board is composed by Mr. Luis Ottolini Coimbra, as President, and by General Luis Palma de Figueiredo and Mr. Carlos Manuel de Abreu as members.
Luis Coimbra has 34 years of experience in the civil aviation sector. Throughout the years he has worked with ANA- Aeroportos de Portugal, as Director of Airport Planning and Development, as Deputy Director-General of Airports and most recently as advisor to the Management Board of Directors.
Between 2003 and 2007, was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the INAC (the Portuguese National Supervisory Authority).
Luis Coimbra is graduate in Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics

Luis Figueiredo pursued a military career in the Portuguese Air Force. He is a pilot, commanded several Air Squads, an Air Base, and was Staff Director, Inspector-General, Logistical Commander and advisor to the Air Force on the National Ministry of Defence. Since 2009 was the Portuguese Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff.
Luis Figueiredo is a General and has the national defence course, the Upper Course of the Air War, the qualification in transport aircraft C212, the Complementary Course of Helicopters, the Piloting Complementary Course Aircraft Fighter, in addition to the Military Sciences Course.

Carlos Abreu is an air traffic controller and was the Head of the Operational Standards and Regulations Department at NAV Portugal. Most recently is was Head of the Air navigation Department in the Air Navigation and Infrastructures Directorate of INAC, the Portuguese Civil Aviation Authority.
Carlos Abreu has a degree in law, and Masters in Space Law, Air Law, Aviation Law and in Airports and Air Navigation.
