NLR signs agreement with Arcadis Netherlands

NLR and ARCADIS Netherlands B.V. recently signed a two-year partnership agreement for developing and hosting geo-information infrastructures. Through this agreement, the partners expect to gain a larger market share of the geo-information sector.

In this sector, geo-information is increasingly exchanged among users of location-bound information. Moreover, a shift from business-to-business to business-to-government is occurring. Developments in this market are happening fast and, additionally, there are increasing opportunities available for accessing, processing and unlocking information.
NLR already applies geo-information in various organisational processes, such as for Air Traffic Management, the use of simulators, and noise, emission and safety calculations. Examples of this include the visualisation of location-bound data, such as for topographical maps, altitude models and climate data.
Arcadis Netherlands has extensive experience in hosting and unlocking geo-information for local governments. As such, Arcadis contributes to IRIS, the Integral Result-focused Information System that ensures the working processes of water boards and the management of large (geographical) data flows are standardised. Aracadis also offers an ATRIUM portal, which companies and governmental departments can use to communicate with citizens and consumers.
NLRs aim is to position itself both nationally and internationally as the geo-information centre for aviation and aerospace. In this context, NLR is developing an online successor to the Airport Scenario Analysis Platform, which is able to visualise noise level calculations. Geo-information is also used for the Delta Dialog Tool, in order to visualise spatial planning policy plans. In addition, NLR collaborates with companies situated in the Geomatics Business Park on operational infrastructure for geo-information services.
