Peru's new AMHS passed FAT

COMSOFT and CORPAC successfully conducted the factory acceptance test (FAT) for the Aeronautical Message Handling System (AMHS) due to be delivered to the Air Navigation Service Provider of Peru, Corporación Peruana de Aeropuertos y Aviación Comercial (CORPAC).
KARLSRUHE, GERMANY, July 2008 Not even five months after being awarded the contract, COMSOFT has received the FAT certificate, subsequently enabling the fully featured message handling system to be transferred to Lima, Peru.
Prior to the certification, the technical and operational experts from CORPAC had methodically tested the hardware and software for compliance with the user requirements and the relevant ICAO standards. As a result the Peruvian team not only found that the system met or even surpassed the functional requirements and expectations, but also proved to be of superior quality and maturity.
Besides AMHS, the order comprises state-of-the-art Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) equipment providing access to local and international NOTAM and OPMET data. The central communication nodes and databases will be installed in Lima, serving international links and eighty remote aeronautical data access terminals throughout the country.
Extensive training was held in the Karlsruhe training centre and in Lima, covering technical and operational aspects in addition to advanced theoretical AMHS know-how. The latter is tremendously important due to CORPAC's role as an inter-regional gateway for AFTN and AMHS traffic between North and South America.
Following FAT-certification, the equipment has been dispatched in order to install the system in Peru in a timely manner.
