Protection of customer data as a priority: FREQUENTIS now ISO27001 certified

As a high-tech company active in safety- and security-related markets, protection of customer data has always been a priority at Frequentis.

As a result, the company has now expanded certification of its long-standing integrated management system to include the formal ISO27001 information security standard.

Frequentis is a global supplier of communication and information systems for safety-critical applications, and the market leader in the air traffic management sector. Customers include organisations and public authorities in air traffic management (civil and military) and public safety & transport (police, fire and emergency medical services; inland and maritime shipping; rail). Frequentis technology is installed in over 80 countries.

Data security is a top priority for all these different customers. The integrated Frequentis management system was recently certified according to ISO27001 (information security management). This first-time certification was awarded as part of a broader recertification process covering the management systems existing ISO9001 (quality management), ISO14001 (environmental management) and OHSAS18001 (occupational health and safety) certifications.

"We work for customers in fields related to safety and security. That business environment comes with a clear obligation to handle all data and information in a sensitive way. We see information and know-how as extremely important goods that need comprehensive protection," says Hannes Bardach, CEO of Frequentis AG. "Our company has always placed great importance on security. ISO27001 certification is a logical development as we continue to honour our customers needs for the very highest levels of data protection and data security."
