Rockshore selected to implement Airport-CDM at Leonardo da Vinci airport

ADR Group, the manager of Rome airports have selected real-time information management specialists Rockshore to implement Airport-CDM, aimed at improving the overall efficiency of operations at Rome Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci Airport.

Leonardo da Vinci Airport is moving towards fully compliant Airport-CDM status in accordance with EUROCONTROL and ETSI standards, driven by the European Commission's SESAR programme. The introduction of Airport-CDM will enable operational teams at Leonardo da Vinci Airport to improve aircraft turn-round procedures and reduce taxi times, noise and emissions through the use of common, accurate, up-to-date information to inform collaborative decision-making processes.

Following a competitive selection process, Rockshore was awarded the contract for the implementation of its Airport CDM Local technology at Leonardo da Vinci Airport.

"It was obvious that Rockshore had a deep understanding of Airport-CDM from both a technological and operational perspective. We are confident the Rockshore offering will meet all of our requirements and will help deliver operational benefits while ensuring regulatory directives are met." - Guido Massimo Mannella, Tenders, Purchases & IT Executive Vice President, Aeroporti di Roma

"It is great to be adding yet another tier one European airport to our customer base. We are seeing a real peak in activity in the A-CDM market at the moment as countries begin executing their LSSIPs as part of preparations for SESAR." - Nathan Day, Business Development Director, Rockshore

Through a series of Airport-CDM implementations and involvement in the European Commission's SWIM-SUIT research programme, Rockshore has developed a proven, standards compliant product suite supported by deep domain expertise.

"In Rockshore, we have selected a partner with a proven track record in delivering Airport-CDM solutions. Their implementation experience and modular product approach is crucial as we have aggressive implementation timescales as part of our SESAR preparations." - Paolo Giannobile, A-CDM Programme Manager, Aeroporti di Roma

The system, due to be live by the end of 2011, will be accessed by the entire airport operational community including airlines, airport operations, ground handlers and air traffic control teams.
