At World ATM Congress 2021, Rohde & Schwarz announces a new contract with Slovenian Air Navigation Services, Limited (Slovenia Control), for the most innovative air traffic control (ATC) radio available, the R&S Series5200, part of CERTIUM, an advanced communications suite for ATC. Rohde & Schwarz will provide a large number of the new R&S Series5200 radio.

Having partnered with Rohde & Schwarz since decades, it is an honor to put the new radio to use,” says Franc Željko Županič, CEO Slovenia Control, during a visit to the Rohde & Schwarz booth at World ATM Congress in Madrid. “Rohde & Schwarz has always provided us with excellent after sales support and service, and their specialists are available whenever we need assistance.

This contract underscores Rohde & Schwarz’ commitment to providing uncompromised quality to our customer and partner Slovenia Control,” Marius Münstermann, Vice President Market Segment ATC at Rohde & Schwarz, explains. “We are constantly in discussion with our partner on how to approve coverage and security of radio communication, using state of the art Rohde & Schwarz communication and measuring equipment. The new R&S Series5200 radio is the perfect match for seamless system integration and effortless maintenance.”

The new R&S Series5200 radio represents the next generation of VHF and UHF radios for ATC communications, increasing system reliability with a new security-by-design architecture. This makes the radio future-proof and subsequent system expansions will not require additional hardware thanks to the software defined radio concept.
