Saab supplies information system to Oslo ATCC
During the summer of 2010, Avinor will put RANDIS (Avinor project name; Realtime AeroNautical Display and Information System) into operational use at Oslo ATCC with a total of 50 working positions.
The system combines numerous ATS information sources into one common, flexible information system, giving the Controller a superior overview of required information.
Through a COM-processor, different real-time systems, such as AFTN, flight information, NAV-aids and surveillance cameras, are interfaced.
Also, static information (e.g. AIP, manuals, charts and administration tools) is handled by the system.
RANDIS is equipped with both local and centralized servers, thus allowing all sites to share operational information.
The system is already in use at several ATCCs (e.g Stavanger, Stockholm,Malmö) besides a number of TMC and TWRs.
The next ATCC in Norway to get RANDIS will be in Bodö.
