SESAR Project EHRA takes off in Prague
On 2 September 2026 the consortium met in Prague, hosted by ANS CR, to kick off EHRA - SESAR project- Evolution of the Human Role Supported by Automation. Over the next 30 months the project will be looking at one question: what happens to the human operator as ATM automation moves to Levels 3 and 4?
The goals of the project are to:
⚖️ A clear map of the regulatory gaps that higher automation opens up in
liability, licensing, certification and insurance.
🖥️ Model-based use cases, tested in human-in-the-loop and human-on-the-loop simulations, measuring how supervisory roles affect vigilance, fatigue, workload and situational awareness.
📚 A methodology that regulators and ANSPs can actually apply, for civil and military operations alike.
The meeting was hosted by Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic
Consortium memebers include:
German Aerospace Center (DLR),AgentFly Technologies, Czech Technical University in Prague, IFATCA, LFV, Lund University, Universitat de les Illes Balears.
EHRA is funded by the European Union under the SESAR Joint Undertaking, Grant Agreement No. 101289055.
