SITTI system in Armenia

- Milan, Italy.

Zvartnots is the main international airport in Armenia, located about 15 km from Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia, being the busiest airport in the country. More than 5 million passengers flow at this airport every year with over 40,000 movements (landings and departures) per year. The name of the airport (Zvartnots) means “sky angels”.

SITTI has been awarded a contract for the supply of a new Voice Communication System (VCS) with about 20 Controller Working Positions (CWPs) for the control and management of the air traffic flowing in the Causasian area. The new MULTIFONO® M800IP® VCS currently manages analogue telephone lines and can be expanded with dedicated hardware to interface radios and ED137-compliant VoIP equipment.

The VCS system is complemented by a Voice Recording System (VRS), also manufactured by SITTI. SITTI will take care of on-site installation of the system, its setup and Site Acceptance Test. All these activities are expected to be completed in the second half of 2026.

SITTI is a primary VCS manufacturer and supplier worldwide, capable of giving prompt and top edge solution answers to Customer needs, both in the Civilian and Military fields. The leading edge, redundant, non-blocking architecture of the SYNCRONIS MULTIFONO® M800IP® provides flexibility and modularity for easy expansion and addition of further functionalities.
