Some twenty partners in HEGAN participate in design and manufacture of Boeing 787 Dreamliner

A total of 19 companies, partners in the Aeronautics and Aerospace Cluster Association of the Basque Country, HEGAN, took part in the engineering and manufacture of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the most modern aicraft from the US manufacturer and which, from 21 January, unites Tokyo and Frankfurt, operated by the Japanese All Nippon Airways (ANA).
Although it made its debut three years later than programmed, the new passenger plane, star of the US aircraft manufacturer, has finally arrived in Europe. A wide representation of the HEGAN partners was involved in this success. After the delivery of components in 2010 and 2011 for some 28 and 29 aircraft annually, respectively, and with the Boeing programme activated, the pace of production will rise progressively and will activate supplies and suppliers from throughout the world.

In the area of engine, ITP Industry of Turbo Propulsores is a risk partner in the engine of Rolls-Royce, Trent 1000, with more than 10% of this, what means the highest Spanish participation in this aircraft.
Hegan 411 ITP 1ITP is responsible for the design, manufacture and assembling of the module LPT -the turbine of low pressure-, as well as of the Rear frame', and its subsidiary PCB provides lost wax casting super alloys for the LPT and the intermediate pressure turbine. According to the statements of Boeing, this engine is more efficient that its predecessors, lighter and easy to install. In addition, it will allow to the airlines save 20% in the consumption of fuel and 30% in maintenance.

ITP develops an important paper with the contracting of works to he companies Aciturri (components of engine and components of external systems of engine), Aibe (tooling for the manufacture of NGVs), Astorkia (mechanization of structural and engine pieces), CTA (validation tests of aerodynamic technologies), Electrohilo (vane edging, bottom core, Thick Subassy, bars), Industrias Galindo (toolings), Novalti (components for the turbine of low pressure -LPT), Nuter (Fittings, pieces of pipe), Siegel (mechanized components), WEC (Mechanic welded components of engine) and TEY and TTT Group (heat and surface treatments).
Alestis Aerospace works from 2008 in the program 787-8 at the chain of supply chain of Alenia and from 2011 has been incorporated in the group of direct suppliers of Boeing, manufacturing several pieces of the horizontal stabilizer (HTP). Also in this area of structures are doing industrial contributions to the program the companies Astorkia (structural components) and Aeromec (more than 40 references in aluminium for the eight passenger doors).

Already in the field of systems, is representative the participation of DMP that, through the integrator of systems Messier Dowty, supplies a kit of 36 pieces of the NLG (nose landing gear).

According to declarations by Boeing, the engines of this aircraft are more efficient, lighter and easier to install than their predecessors. Moreover, they are ahead of the terms of compliance with environmental regulations, as they enable the carriers to save some 20% in the consumption of fuel and 30% in maintenance
