Stuart Ratcliffe Joins Metron Aviations Commercial Products and Solutions Group

Metron Aviation announced today that Stuart Ratcliffe has joined its Commercial Products and Solutions group as Vice President of Global ATM Advisory Services. Mr. Ratcliffe has over 33 years of air traffic control and management experience. He joins Metron Aviation from South Africas Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS), where he was the Manager of the Central Airspace Management Unit (CAMU).
Mr. Ratcliffes tenure at ATNS is extensive, having recently managed Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) functions that implemented strategic, pre-tactical and tactical concepts in South African airspace. Mr. Ratcliffe was responsible for supervising the African Regional Monitoring Agency, IATA strategic slot allocation, Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) and country-wide ATFM. Mr. Ratcliffes previous positions with ATNS include Principle Air Traffic Controller, ATC Standards Officer and Chief Air Traffic Controller for approach, tower and area operations. Stuarts achievements with the ATNS Central Airspace Management Unit make him a great addition to our growing team of subject matter experts, said Dave Basil, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Commercial Products and Solutions. Stuarts contributions to ATFM within South Africa and as a member of the global ATFM community make him extremely valuable to our global customer base as they plan and deploy ATFM capabilities for the future. Mr. Ratcliffe was also a founding member of the task force and operational project teams which developed traffic management procedures and processes for use during the FIFA 2010 World Cup. He has contributed to the airspace management for several other high-demand events including; the African Union Conference, World Summit for Sustainable Development South Africa and the 2003 Cricket World Cup (CWC) South Africa. I am excited to be working with such a talented team on ATFM programs for leading ANSPs around the world, said Mr. Ratcliffe. Metron Aviation is the clear industry leader in deploying collaborative ATFM solutions, which I firmly believe are essential to enabling a more efficient and safer airspace.
