Systems Interface to upgrade ILS Localisers at Hamad International Airport, Qatar

Systems Interface, based in the UK, has been awarded the contract to install and commission Two replacement Instrument Landing System (ILS) Localisers on behalf of Indra Navia for their client Hamad International Airport, Doha, Qatar.

Indra Navia’s new 32-element NORMARC 7000 localiser antenna systems will be installed on two of the four runway approaches replacing the current 24 Element arrays. Systems Interface will also Project Manage all associated Civil works.

The Ultra-Wide Localiser’s narrow sensitive area allows ILS CAT III holding points and large aircraft movements (such as the Airbus A380) to be moved closer to the runway in CAT III operations.

Indra Navia awarded the contract to Systems Interface to install and commission this leading-edge equipment because of their complete technical understanding and experience installing these critical systems gained from over 30 years’ as a leading systems integrator within the air traffic industry.

 Hamad International Airport The airport has the capacity to handle 8,700 passengers per hour, more than 30 million passengers a year and is undergoing further expansion to accommodate more than 50 million passengers.
