The end of an era: Ab Initio 59 'checks-out' from Luxembourg.

Four candidates have successfully completed the course and will continue their unit training at Maastricht UAC.This event also marks the end of over 40 years of ATC training at the Institute, with Ab-Initio 1 - which began their course in similar wintry conditions on 5 January 1970. It is not a secret that Maastricht is one of the most busy and cost efficient centres in Europe and we are proud to say that the vast majority of their controllers were trained here in Luxembourg.

The Institute will now focus solely on ATM training with the continued provision of classroom and e-learning courses. This will allow us to better serve the wider ATM community in areas where training needs are most acute e.g. network efficiency and SES regulation.
