UFA ATTower® Simulator Supports DFS Remote Tower Control Project Training Solution

UFA, Inc. (UFA), a leading provider of Air Traffic Simulation and Voice Technologies, announced that, in partnership with DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH (DFS), it has developed a training solution for the DFS Remote Tower Control (RTC) project. Testing of the training solution was successfully completed at Saarbrücken Airport.

UFA developed the required simulation capabilities to support training on the Remote Tower system. The solution was to use ATTower® to drive the Remote Tower system in a simulation mode. UFA’s ATTower provides the DFS Remote Tower system with simulated Radar tracks (ASTERIX data) and, using the ATView™ image generator, simulated video streams from multiple cameras replicating the operational configuration.

ATTower/ATView provides different camera modes such as 360-degree panorama and pan tilt zoom (PTZ), including visual and infrared presentations which allows object recognition and
automatic tracking. The embedded ATTower simulator empowers users to train on a copy of the Remote Tower system with the simulated airport and complete dynamic interaction.
