Vaughn College selects UFA ATTower® Tower and ATCoach® Radar Simulator Systems

- Burlington, USA

UFA, INC., a leading provider of Air Traffic Control (ATC) simulation and voice technologies, announced today that Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology in Flushing, NY selected the ATTower® and ATCoach® products for its new, state-of-the-art radar and tower training facility.

With a 5-channel HD LCD based ATTower tower training simulator, Vaughn students will experience a “real world” airport environment with aircraft, ground vehicles, wild-life, and simulated weather conditions. For en route and approach radar training, Vaughn will implement a 5-position ATCoach radar simulator. ATCoach provides a comprehensive and high fidelity simulation for both en route and approach air space. A user-friendly exercise creation environment allows Vaughn staff to create and manage their simulation courseware.

Vaughn will also use UFA’s industry-leading ATVoice® voice recognition and response technology for voice-automated simulation, allowing greater access to training assets and enforcing proper voice communications.

Both the Tower and Radar training environments will support the same Airport and Airspace that the students will encounter upon entering the FAA Academy.

With the acquisition of the UFA simulation products, Vaughn will offer training on the same products used by the FAA in its ERAM and STARS training programs. UFA products are also in extensive use by the U.S. Military, and other FAA-CTI schools such as Texas State Technical College – Waco, University of Alaska – Anchorage, LeTourneau University, University of North Dakota and Daniel Webster College. International Air Navigation Service (ANS) providers such as EUROCONTROL, NAV CANADA, DGAC/DSNA France, LVNL Netherlands and DFS Germany are also extensively using UFA products for Training, Test and R&D.
