WIDE successfully launched Gen5, the new generation 2k2k ATC display.

- Amsterdam, The Netherlands

WIDE Corporation showed its new generation 2k2k display, Gen5, to the public for the first time at ATC Global 2013. The new line-up was well received by the industry thanks to its wide range of improvements offering great benefit to the ATC industry. Besides Gen5 they also showed their new TRACON and Tower Control touch screen and High Bright displays.

The new Gen5 display will be lighter and thinner to the current 2k2k ATC displays. This reduction in weight and volume will offer great costs benefit in terms of logistic, storage and the installation process. Also the design of the display has improved drastically because of this weight loss. The bulky design of the current 2k2k is replaced with a slender design, which was highly praised during ATC Global as a welcome change.

WIDE Corporation put a lot of efforts in the new developed LED BLU panel which comes with a lot of advantages such as brighter display, less power usage, low heat radiation output and an eco-friendly approach with 0% mercury used in the display. The higher brightness addresses to the trend of Air Traffic Controllers working in brighter environments. Because of the low heat radiation the display is fan-less which produces less noise in the control room and attracts less dust into the monitors. Low power consumption makes it possible to reduce the power consumption of the entire environment.

Gen5 will be made available this year in desktop, vesa and chassis mount.
