CAA - Sri Lanka

General policy and direction division is responsible for providing strategic direction and guidance to CAA management to implement CAA’s mission and also for monitoring. Additionally the division is entrusted with responsibilities such as policy planning and implementation, safety management and state safety programme, environment sustainability, international relations, research and development, manage the internal audit function of CAA and also the aircraft accident investigation as well. The division is directly under the purview of Director General of Civil Aviation and Chief Executive Officer through the Senior Director of CAA.

To facilitate through strategic planning and effective regulation, the operation of a safe, secure, efficient, regular and environmentally friendly national civil aviation system that conforms to International Standards and Recommended Practices and national legislative requirements.
