Dinosaur Game

The Dinosaur Game was first introduced in 2014 as an Easter egg in Google Chrome. Whenever users lost access to the internet, instead of seeing a dull error message, they would see a dinosaur standing next to a “No Internet” message. By pressing the spacebar, the dinosaur would begin to run—thus starting the game. According to Google developers, the game was meant to be a lighthearted nod to the “prehistoric” times before Wi-Fi. It quickly gained popularity for being accessible, funny, and unexpectedly addictive.
