ONYX Radar is an online vibration analysis system which is especially designed for the monitoring of the mechanical parts of radar sites (ball bearing, electric motor, rotary joint, gear box). ). Unforeseen failures of radar sites are expensive. In commercial air traffic a single failure can shut down an airport and, like dominoes, start a cascading process of flight delays, cancellations, and rerouting. This is why Austro Control, the Austrian ANSP has been using our predictive measurement equipment at all Austrian radar sites since 1998. Within this period of time our equipment predicted upcoming faults several times in advance and therefore helped to avoid bigger damage and simultaneously helped to decrease the overall maintenance costs.
