• The automated weather observation system must meet applicable standards according to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Transport Canada (TC). It must at least meet the main requirements contained in the AWOS I type system (according to FAA requirements) to which a ceilometer must be added. More specifically, the system must include:
    • Ceilometer;
    • Technical manuals;
    • Altimeter and barometer;
    • Ultrasonic wind speed and direction;
    • No rosé;
    • Data collection platform and central computer;
    • Meteorological observation message;
    • Air-ground communication equipment;
    • Temperature and relative humidity sensor.
  • The system can also meet the following secondary requirements:
    • Weather report accessible by phone via a voice report;
    • Automated weather observation software (Airport Weather Advisor® or equivalent) in French.
