The objective of the Flight Plan and Flight Data Evolution (FPFDE) Project is to develop and implement improvements to flight plan and flight data information and its availability to relevant stakeholders. The project therefore encompasses the following domains:
a) implementation of the ICAO FF-ICE R1 (Pre-Departure) services and related infrastructure in support to Trajectory Based Operations and SESAR developments with respect to Shared Business Trajectory;
b) implementation of VFR flight plan processing in support to ARO requirements;
c) implementation of iOAT flight plan processing
d) contribution to the elaboration of post-departure procedures and processes related to flight data and trajectory management as developed within various SESAR projects, Flight Object and ICAO FF-ICE R2 (Post-Departure).
The scope of the project is fully aligned with the responsibilities of the Network Manager and the Network Management functions, as provided by EU Regulations, and elaborated within the Detailed Work Programme for the Network Management Functions.
The FPFDE project is a key contributor to the Network Strategy Plan Objective ‘SO5 – Facilitate business trajectories and cooperative traffic management’, and fully addresses the NSP Action SO5/1.
It also contributes to the:
• NSP Objective ‘SO2 – Deploy interoperable and effective information management systems, and more specifically to the Action SO2/4, through the FF-ICE/1 implementation;
• NSP Objective ‘SO4 – Plan optimum capacity and flight efficiency’, and more specifically to the Action SO4/2;
• NSP objective ‘SO10 – Prepare for RP3 and beyond’, as it will develop the maturity of new flight data / flight plan formats that may then become candidates for technological deployment in RP3.
