LVNL is the manager of aeronautical data in the Netherlands. This data is made available internally (LVNL employees, including air traffic controllers) and externally (eg to large and small aviation) through various information products. Static cards play a major role in this. To make these cards, different software is used, especially CAD and drawing packages and a small part of GIS.
LVNL wants to fully open up the aeronautical data in the future through a well-functioning and integrated GIS platform. The reasons for this are: more efficiency, single data and multiple use and changing wishes of users. In addition, LVNL must comply with legislation regarding the provision of open data (INSPIRE). By means of the GIS platform, LVNL wants to create a variety of dynamic GIS information products, ranging from web viewers to apps and open data services, for example.Click for more info
