SOUTH AFRICA - Digital Airfield Information Display (DAID) replacement project

This project caters for the full replacement of the existing AID system installed at the following Air Traffic Service Units:
• FAOR (OR Tambo International Airport);
• FACT (Cape Town International Airport);
• FABL (Bram Fischer International Airport);
• FALE (King Shaka International Airport);
• FAPE (Port Elizabeth International Airport);
• FAEL (East London Airport); and
• FAGG (George Airport)

The project shall include:
• The decommissioning of existing equipment;
• The disposal of existing equipment in line with the ATNS processes and procedures;
• Supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of a new AID system;
• Provision of basic and advanced training to maintenance and operations personnel; and
• Maintenance and support of the supplied AID system.
• Depending on the station, the AID system shall be installed on workstations in the SSS, the ATC hall, the control tower and the equipment room (for technical services). The number of workstations to be replaced per station is given in Table 1 in APPENDIX A . The system interfaces are provided in APPENDIX B
