Training, simulation and digital learning in practice at Entry Point North

- Malmö, Sweden.

For 20 years, Entry Point North has supported ANSPs, airports and aviation organisations with training and competence development. Today, that work spans ATCO training, ATSEP training, simulation, digital learning and new training technologies.

A new video brings those areas together through the people who work with them every day. Rather than presenting a list of services, it gives a clearer picture of how Entry Point North supports customers in practice and what that support is built on.

At the centre of it is a simple point: training only works when it makes sense in the customer’s reality.

Starting from the customer’s operation

Training needs are rarely shaped by one factor alone. They are often influenced by international regulations, national authorities, internal procedures, available resources and local competence needs, all at the same time.

That is why Entry Point North’s work starts with understanding the customer’s operational environment. The aim is not only to deliver training that meets regulatory requirements, but to make sure it also works in practice for the organisation receiving it.

That combination matters. Regulatory knowledge on its own is not enough. Operational experience on its own is not enough either. What customers often need is training that brings those two things together.

Simulation that prepares students for the real environment

That same practical focus runs through the way Entry Point North works with simulation.

Simulated training environments can be adapted to reflect a customer’s own operation and used to create realistic scenarios for students. That matters because simulation is not only about practising tasks. It is about helping learners recognise the kind of environment they will later step into and preparing them for it in a structured way.

When simulation is closely tied to operational reality, the training becomes more relevant. It also gives both the learner and the organisation a stronger bridge between training and operations.

Digital learning as part of the wider training chain

Digital learning is another important part of that picture.

At Entry Point North, it is not treated as something separate from the rest of training. It is part of the wider training offer and is used where it can support access, flexibility and continuity in a meaningful way.

For customers, that can mean quicker access to courses. For learners, it can mean more flexibility in how and when they study. But the value does not lie in flexibility alone. It also lies in how the learning is built. Interactive content, scenarios, deep dives and reflection tasks are used to help knowledge stay with the learner over time.

Seen that way, digital learning is not only about delivery. It is also about how learning is supported.

Developing with the industry

Entry Point North continues to develop its training through new technologies, including AI-supported solutions. The aim is not to introduce technology for its own sake, but to build on existing experience and respond to future training needs across the aviation industry.

That reflects a broader part of how the organisation works. Training does not stand still, and neither do the demands around it. New tools, new methods and new expectations need to be met in a way that still keeps the training relevant, practical and grounded.

Perspectives from across Entry Point North

The video features Anne, Sebastian, Nilla and Nathan, each speaking from their own area of expertise. Together, they offer a broader view of how Entry Point North supports customers across training, compliance, simulation and digital learning.

Taken together, their perspectives show something important. Entry Point North’s work is not built around one format or one solution. It is built around understanding what the customer needs, what the training is meant to achieve and how that can best be delivered.
