The eighth annual World ATM Congress, held at Feria de Madrid, concluded on Thursday, 28 October. The world’s largest air traffic management (ATM) event attracted over 5,400 attendees and 172 exhibitors from 117 countries and territories. His Majesty the King of Spain inaugurated the three-day Congress. His Majesty was joined by Secretary of State for Transportation, Mobility and Urban Agenda and ENAIRE President Isabel Pardo de Vera; CANSO Director General Simon Hocquard; and ATCA President and CEO Brian R. Bruckbauer.
In 2019, Asia-Pacific was the largest market for passenger travel to Bangladesh, followed closely by the Middle East and Europe. Over the past year, the number of passengers on domestic routes in Bangladesh recovered to pre-pandemic levels. As the aviation sector gradually embarks on recovery, the CAAB is affirming its commitment to increase safety and security of its airspace with the signing of a contract with Thales for a full turnkey modernisation of the country’s Air Traffic Management system.

World ATM Congress 2021 opened this morning at IFEMA, Feria de Madrid. The European Space Resources Innovation Centre (ESRIC) announces its intention to join this organization as the first non-founding member - In a contex of increased momentum around space exploration, Airbus Defence and Space, Air Liquide and ispace Europe have announced the joint creation of EURO2MOON. This non-profit organisation will be dedicated to promoting a better use of lunar natural resources, while accelerating the cis-lunar economy and federating industrial efforts across Europe.
The Korean Airport Corporation (KAC) has awarded Indra a contract for the supply and installation of Indra’s Normarc Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) and Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) with a total value of approximately EUR 6 million. - The systems are used by aircraft for navigating safely to the ground, and will be installed at the airports of Ulsan, Muan and Yeosu. In addition, KAC will have separate systems to be used for testing and training of technical personnel.
