The Air Navigation Service Provider for Papua New Guinea, PNG Air Services Limited, has completed a transition to the TopSky-ATC system provided by Thales. This transition represents a jump from a 30 year old paper strip system to a state-of-the-art electronic system, helping to reduce air traffic controller workload and increase safety throughout the airspace. PNGASL are responsible for the safe movement of more than 50,000 flights per year through their airspace, which includes many high level overflights.
Airways New Zealand has partnered with the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK) to establish an air traffic control training academy for training of Kuwaiti students. As part of the joint venture partnership agreement Airways is providing a one-year training programme at ACK for a group of air traffic control (ATC) students, and has installed a Total Control tower simulator and two radar simulators at its campus in Kuwait for use during training.

Thales welcomes the announcement by Airservices Australia today that two key milestones in the delivery of the world-leading OneSKY program have been reached. The Chinese South West Air Traffic Management Bureau (SWATMB) has chosen Indra to implement some of the key systems that will help to turn the city of Chengdu into the country's third airport hub. It has awarded Indra contracts worth around 27 million euros this year. Chengdu is one of the pillars of China's economic activity and the gateway to whole of the west of the country. In recent years, the city's air traffic has continued to grow, taking the Chengdu-Shuangliu international airport close to its maximum capacity.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has awarded a contract to Rohde & Schwarz, to upgrade and expand the Air Traffic Control (ATC) radio communications system at Singapore Changi Airport. The enhanced system will further strengthen safety for airlines and passengers. As part of the contract, Rohde & Schwarz is required to provide auxiliary equipment, software, project management, training as well as after-sales services for a 15-year period to CAAS.
