ENAV announces that in the first half of August it has handled 48,000 flights, up 33% vs July, with an average of 3,200 flights managed per day vs the 2,400 flights per day of July, confirming the growth trend of air traffic in Italy. In the first 15 days of August the traffic displays a recovery of around 50% of the traffic volumes of the same period of 2019. Traffic volumes in July 2020 were 40% of last years’ volumes for the same month. The progressive recovery in Italian airspace is in line with the increase recorded also in the rest of Europe since June.

The European Commission has selected seven ENAIRE projects involving the SESAR Exploratory Research programme to forge ahead with the Single European Sky. Indra is breaking all records in the ambitious project of renovating air control centers and towers in Saudi Arabia. Eight months ahead of schedule, the company has delivered Yeda's en-route and approach control center and Dammam's approach control center to the country's navigation service provider, SANS.Together with Riyadh, Yeda is one of the two control centers responsible for managing traffic en-route across the country. Its successful deployment is a definite step forward for the project, which is now entering the home stretch.
NAV CANADA has entered into an agreement with Unifly, a strategic technology partner, in the deployment of a national system that provides digital services for safely operating and managing drones in Canadian airspace. The system has an intuitive user interface and will enable Canadian drone pilots to access web and mobile applications to identify safe and legal airspace, plan flights, manage operations, pilots and fleet of drones. This fully digitized system makes the process of requesting authorization to fly in controlled airspace easier and faster for qualified drone pilots.
