The ninth annual World ATM Congress, held at Recinto Ferial IFEMA Madrid, concluded on Thursday, 23 June. The world’s largest air traffic management (ATM) event attracted over 7,900 registrants who engaged with over 200 exhibitors from 134 countries and territories - The Exhibition Hall featured 202 exhibitors from around the world. In total, seven theatres hosted 165 sessions, with more than 200 aviation experts from industry, government, labour, and educational institutions participated in presentations, panel discussions, technical briefings, and product demonstrations and launches.

The Maverick Awards, created to recognise outstanding achievements in four categories of air traffic management (ATM): innovation, collaboration, resiliency and sustainability, were introduced by ATCA’s (the Air Traffic Control Association) President and CEO Brian Bruckbauer and CANSO’s (the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation) Director General Simon Hocquard - Yesterday, World ATM Congress awarded the 2022 Maverick Awards.
